Misleading Marketing, Loud Fan July 10, 2010 GarageBoy (Santa Cruz, CA USA) It's a shame that good companies feel they have to misrepresent their products. The packaging clearly states 15 minute recharge, see also the product image on its Amazon page. However, according to the instructions it takes 26 - 32 min. to charge 4 batteries depending on their capacity. So how hard would it be to state 15 - 30 min charge time? There's nothing wrong with taking 30 min. to charge four batteries, so what's Energizer afraid of? A well-established and reputable company like Energizer should demonstrate more integrity, honesty & ethics, especially since this is a good product.
If you're shooting a quiet indoors event beware that the fan is very loud and potentially would disturb participants and the audience. You'd have to find another room, or since the unit comes with a car charger, you could run back and forth to your car. Alternatively, an easy work-around is to come prepared with an appropriate amount of charged batteries. Or if you're shooting something like a dance party, no worries about the fan.
I Love this Charger! I Love this Charger! I Love this Charger! June 22, 2010 Joseph Kearse (Columbia, SC) It works in 15 minutes, has a car cigarette lighter connection, and is a good price. I think I'll buy another just in case.

I wholeheartedly recommend this charger. I love that it has its own cooling fan. I love that it has a separate power supply. I love that one of the two power supply connections is a 12volt lighter plug. It can charge individual batteries or multiples. It can charge 4 AAA batteries at one time.

I started slowly stocking up on rechargeable batteries when I noticed a borrowed set of rechargeable batteries lasted almost twice as long in my digital camera. Ever since, I felt good about buying rechargeables. They cost more but in the long run I knew they would pay for themselves. I have a lot of electronics that rely on batteries and I just got tired of buying and tossing into trash.
There was no real need in me having to buy this charger because my other charger was absolutely fine; a little slow maybe but it did the job nicely. However with this particular charger, I did like that fact that it would only take 15 minutes to charge. I had a lot of dead batteries and new that this would save me some time in getting a charge back on all those. Well, it worked. In fifteen minutes, 4 batteries were charged and ready to go. In a matter of 1.5 hours I completed the chore of putting the charge back onto all my AAs and AAA batteries.
It wasn't long before I noticed that my batteries weren't holding the charge like they used to. Somehow I just didn't put two and two together. I thought maybe a battery went bad, maybe I accidentally used a dead battery or maybe they just didn't charge all the way. Whatever the reason they went back into the pile to be charged once more. Like the proverbial snow ball, "bad" batteries just started accumulating. By the time I realized that I have pretty much killed all my batteries, it was too late. All the money invested into rechargeable batteries was out the window. I didn't think twice about throwing this into the trash.
I later invested in the LaCrosse Technology battery charger that can help recondition bad batteries. With that product I was able to salvage some of those batteries but most were too far gone. Had I gave this a review soon after getting this charger, the reviews would've been great. I probably would've mentioned the heat and loud noise but overall, it would've been good. What a difference time makes. Take it from me, this will charger will NOT save time and will NOT save money. Beware! BATTERY KILLER!
Fast charger, but not for use it worldwide April 6, 2010 Marko Garcia (Monterrey, Mexico) I have this charger for over a year now, and it still works perfectly. It is the fastest charger I've ever used, it does charge the batteries in 15 minutes, as promised. It does detect bad batteries, and it allows you to charge even 1, 2, 3 or 4 batteries at the same time. The only con I have with this charger is its A/C adapter, which is kinda bulky, and it does not work with 240V. So you only get to use it if you have 120V at home, and of course you cannot take it to a trip to Europe, and the worst part is that Eneregizer does not sell an A/C adapter for 240V so you are stock with it in 120V.
For me this is important as I would like to take it with me on my constant trips to Europe because of its small size and fast charging rate, but unfortunately, it seems energizer people do not care about this. I'm presuming this as I wrote to their customer service about this issue 3 or 4 time and still waiting for an answer.
