4 out of 5 stars Good for awhile   September 24, 2009

I really enjoy rap-rock, but I usually don't stray towards bands that are heavier on the rap and less on the rock, such as Bionic Jive. But, with a band this good, I can always make an expection. If you like bands like "stuck mojo" (less on the rap) or rage against the machine (pretty balanced), then you will like these guys . . . hopefully. The only reason they don't get a 5 out of 5 is the replay value is not so good. They come on strong, give the "I want to put it on replay" feeling for a few plays and then just go away to never be put in the cd player or cued up on the mp3 player again. Maybe some day they will make it up to bat on a random play and won't be skipped, I still they the songs are good, but just over played after a few plays.

5 out of 5 stars Re-sets the bar for rock-rap bands   October 20, 2006

I have not really got the hang of rock/rap bands before except for Hed (PE) who are great - but stuff like LP, LB, POD etc just never quite did enough for me: some good songs among them but never enough to completely take me in - but I am a big fan of Rock bands - stuff like Sevendust - and late 80's/early 90's rap - PE, Ice cube... but the stuff in the middle just wasn't authentic enough.

This band works really well as a mix between the two that is more true to the two original poles rather than being a hybrid - the music is really good - they are really rocking out on it in tracks and it's worthy of a lot of good rock bands.

And the vocalists are great also - one of them takes a similar sound to Ice Cube at his best in some spots, the other is good also and they are really good at it rather than being only half way the real deal.

What it means is a really good record - it's lively and powerful but feels like it is meant to be - rather than somewhat contrived. Only Hed PE for me is a better effort and this is close to it - brilliant stuff. Might be more suitable for fans of that harder style rap of the early 90's than for rock fans as that is so strong but it's great music.

Songs I would suggest to have a listen are 'I shot Lucifer' and 'Break the Chains' - but the entire first half of the album is terrific.

A lyrical and musical masterpiece from a mouthful of hand grenades and a thundering concussion of beat.
It's a Bionic Jive!

5 out of 5 stars One of the best rapcore bands out there   July 8, 2004

This album is off the hook. When i first bought this album i was amazed, i havent heard anything like this before. If you combine the raps and flows of outkast or dr. dre and the rock stylings of deftones or korn you might get something like bionic jive. My favorite songs on this are pump and ricoshet. Pick this up right away.
