"Speaker of Turkish" leans towards the more haunting and dreamy soundtrack influenced mid-period Muslimgauze. Echoed nez and oud predominate, with discrete washes of noise lurking in the background with menacing voices over dub-style drumming.
Thankfully, none of the distortion and hip-hop characteristic of late MG surfaces here. Ethereal and beautiful beyond words, "Speaker of Turkish" deserves to be re-issued. It is available for download on I-Tunes now, which is where I first discovered it.
