Product Description The Image S4i employs a moving coil micro-speaker with controlled damping for smooth, full-bodied sound that's similar to a more expensive design. A dual neodymium magnet motor structure, in each of the 8.5 mm drivers, establishes the S4i's damping characteristics. The Image S4i works seamlessly with the iPhone 3GS, third generation iPod shuffle, second generation iPod touch, fourth generation iPod nano and the iPod classic 120GB. The headset features Apple's advanced three-button microphone and remote system that easily handles the voice and/or music control of Apple products. The Image S4i works with the iPod Classic, 4th-generation iPod nanos, 3rd-generation iPod shuffles, 2nd-generation iPod touch, and the iPhone 3Gs. Furthermore, the S4i remote is among the first to be fully compatible with the Apple VoiceOver feature on the third generation iPod shuffle, which allows you to hear the name of the playlist, song or artist with just the press of a button.

Hi hopes dashed. It just didn't live up to the hype September 4, 2010 Stuart Kerr (Long Island, NY) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I had researched a ton of headphones on amazon and on other sites. Based on the reviews i went ahead and picked up the Klipsch. I had really hoped that this new Kipsch S4i would be the tool that delivered my iphone 4 earbud bliss. Sadly it was not the case. I've had super high end phones like Sure E5C's all the way down to the $8 headsets you can buy on the streets in NY.
I read lots about these and really wanted them to be the right combination. A great headset, a good noise canceling microphone so i could use on the busy streets of NY without having to grab the microphone and put it to my mouth.
Unfortunately, it just didn't do it. For starters, the cords is incredibly thin and tangles instantly! no matter how i tried to store it, it was always a tangled mess when i pulled it out of my pocket. 1 BIG strike. if it's a hassle to use the earbuds, it doesn't make for a good experience.
Second, when i got them in, they sounded...."eh". Not lousy but not great either. I had purchased a pair for $15 that sounded arguably as good and intererstingly enough had the some cord diameter. I thought the ipod remote built in would make it easier but that just became another thing to get tangled.
Then i started using them on the subway. Great except i could hear everything going on around me (which kind of defeats the purpose).
I really don't mind dropping $100 on a good set of quality earbuds. Just make sure that they deliver what they promise.
Sadly, these did not. I like Amazon and i appreciate their return policy (though i rarely use it).
GREAT EARPHONES September 4, 2010 Doug Gibbons I read many reviews about these and decided to hear for myself. Simply put these are Great Earphones. They fit into my ear perfectly and they stay there ! The best I've ever owned. Highly recommended.
great for listening, issues picking up women's voices September 1, 2010 E. Fraley (San Jose, CA) I switched to these from the Sennheiser MM50 iP Earbud Headset (iPhone Compatible) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0018NU3KU/ref=oss_product
I have two headsets that I use: I use the Klipswitch for listening, but the Scosche http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002E9HB3O/ref=oss_product is better for me for talking on the phone.
Lots of earphone/headsets have issues for women with soprano voices. The Klipswitch's mic is down on your chest; the Scosche it's on the wire from one ear. People tell me they can't really hear me very well when I talk on the Klipswitch without holding the mic up in front of my mouth (fail). I never have a problem with the Scosche. Both K & S do well in the ear. (For me, I find that the default Apple earbuds hurt after 30 minutes.) They've both got adjustable sizes of ear-insert.
The Klipswitch is slightly more comfortable although they can feel as though they're not securely inside your ear when you're wearing them. I'm not a runner, so haven't tested that side of the durability/wearability equation, but the feeling is there if not the reality. It takes a while to get used to.
Other features work as expected.
Absolute Garbage. Don't Waste Your Money. August 30, 2010 ALLAN D. Parsons (New York, NY USA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased these earphones after reading several very-positive reviews at Gizmodo, Engadget, Amazon, and the iTunes store. I was debating between these and the Dre. Tours w/ Control Talk, and these were apparently the "best value for the money."
I used them to jog in the city ONE TIME, and within 45 minutes, they caused my iPod shuffle to skip, then the volume controls wouldn't work, and then I switched to my girlfriend's Nano. Then, the Nano started to skip, then stopped playing, then would play 3 or 4 seconds, then would skip, then would stop for 2 minutes. So, then I tried these headphones on my iPhone, and within 10 minutes of casual use, the exact same thing would happen. I couldn't listen to a single song without the Voice Control application on my iPhone launching and barking at me to "say a command."
These earphones are complete garbage, plain and simple. I got two uses out of them, and for $100, I'd expect a better pair of earphones. Not the case... I'm returning to Amazon tomorrow.
PROS:
- Price (if you consider $100 earphones a "pro.").
- They had decent quality, but the control ceased to work, so this is a moot point.
CONS:
- Controller worked for maybe 45 minutes.
- Cable is poorly constructed.
- Pouch holder is laughable.
- Basically, complete garbage.
Seriously, I've never been so furious about a piece of garbage.
cnet over-ranked this product August 29, 2010 darkslave nice sound for the price, the mic doesnt work with my ipod touch 3gen and thats a dealbreaker.
