| Customer Reviews: this cover completely meets my needs June 22, 2006 Big Al (Boulder, CO USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was initially put off by the rather strange, industrial appearance of this cover. However, I did finally settle on it, after looking at every other iPod cover available, and I'm really happy with my choice. This cover is one solid piece of knobby rubber-like stuff that stretches tight over the iPod. The included hard, clear plastic iPod screen cover is lined with a rubber bumper and fits tightly and perfectly inside the rubber cover. The click wheel on the iPod is left exposed through an opening in the rubber cover. I like having the click wheel NOT covered because it remains very sensitive to touch this way. There are correctly-sized and -placed openings on the top of the Speck cover for the signal output plug and the safety button. Same thing for the power plug on the bottom. There is a (pretty bulky) detachable clip on the back of the Speck that I've found to be very secure and does not rip out when you remove it. What I like about the Spreck's appearance, now that I'm used to it, is that it's simple, uniform and has no tacky velcro closures, ugly stitching or cheap vinyl screen cover, which is what I found in just about every other cover. Also, these knobby things all over the Spreck have the added bonuses of: 1) making my iPod easy to hang on to, when I carry it in my hand (I've never dropped it yet, and I bet it would BOUNCE, in this cover, if I ever did!); and, 2) the knobby things keep me and my iPod from getting all sweaty when I put my iPod inside my sport bra against my sternum when I'm running. Those knobby things seem to promote air circulation! (-: I might be the only person in the world who sticks her iPod in her sport bra, but when I'm running, I don't like carrying my iPod in my hand, I don't like it bouncing around when clipped to my elastic-waist running shorts, and I don't like strapping it to my upper arm.

This is definately not your every day ipod case. I love the way it looks, but it's bulky.. gets really annoying to carry around. The case, unfortunately, doesn't fit quite right, and lets a lot of dirt in, kind of counter intuitive to a scratch-free ipod. The screen scratches pretty easily too.
If you're prone to dropping your ipod, however, it does a great job of protecting it. I'm terrible with my electronics, and the ipod's lasted this long so far..
